Results from Dymock Forest
On the longest course Brown 9.2km with 245 metres of climb, Ben Flippance M35 took 105.53mins to come 9th and David Chandler M21 was 10th in 129.21mins. The event run by Harlequins Orienteering Club in Dymock Forest, used some tough and complex terrain, with much of the area covered by brambles, crisscrossed by a wet, muddy path network, and runners had to negotiate fallen branches searching for controls.
David Leadley M50 won the Blue 7km course with 170 metres of climb in 61.07mins, Chris McCartney M45 was 3rd in 62.20mins and Barry Elkington M60 was 7th in 68.12mins. Bruce Bryant M55 was 5th on the Green 4.4km course in 48.34mins, Stan Alexander M60 7th in 50.20mins and Liz Phillips W50 9th in 51.19mins. Sheila Carey W70 won the Short Green 3.7km course in 45.09mins, Peter Carey M70 was 3rd in 48.58mins, John Bowman M70 6th in 57.04mins.
Juniors from the club did very well: Pippa Smart W14 was 1st on the Light Green 3.5km course in 50.27mins and Cameron Williams-Stein M14 2nd in 53.06mins. Florence Lunn W12 was 1st on the Orange 3.2km course in 29.38mins, Peter Markham M12 2nd in 31.26mins, Tabitha Lunn W12 3rd in 38.47mins and Finley Flippance M12 4th in 40.13mins. Josie Smart W12 was 2nd in 24.33mins on the Yellow 2.5km course and Tilly Flippance W10 was 5th 50.16mins. the youngest juniors also ran well: Finn Williams-Stein M10 was 1st on the White 2.1km course in 17.13mins and Max Straube-Roth M10 was 2nd in 27.28mins.

WORLD SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS SELECTIONS AND BRITISH SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS
Following some great orienteering runs at the selection race held at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, the day before the championships it has been announced that Kenilworth School and Sixth Form Junior Boys team have been selected to represent England at the World Championships. This is a great honour for the school and Octavian Droobers Orienteering Club congratulates the team, who are all club members. The World Championships will be held in April next year at Palermo, Sicily where the boys will compete against other teams from around the world. Oliver Lunn was the star performer winning the M14 4.8km course in 29.49mins, Oliver Flippance was 6th, Cameron Williams-Stein 12th, Felix Lunn 16th, Nathan Chapple 27th and Christian Roberts 32nd.
Several schools from Coventry and Warwickshire entered individuals and teams in the British Schools Championships at Sutton Park. Competing against over 750 pupils, the competition was tough and congratulations go to club members who represented their schools and notable individual results were: Year 7 Girls – 4th Florence Lunn, Kenilworth School, 8th Josie Smart, Myton School, 10th Tabitha Lunn, Kenilworth, Year 9 Girls 11th Pippa Smart, Myton School, Warwick, Year 8 Boys – 10th Peter Markham, Ash Green School, Coventry, 12th Jacob Oxtoby, King Henry VIII, Coventry, 17th Joe Quinney, Southam College, Year 10 Boys – 6th Felix Lunn, 9th Oliver Lunn and 10th Oliver Flippance, all Kenilworth School. At Wakerley Woods, part of Rockingham Forest, Leicestershire Orienteering Club organised the East Midlands Championships. Top runs were achieved by 1st place for Oliver Lunn M14, ineligible for the trophy unfortunately, in 43.52mins on the 4.5km Green course and Sheila Carey W70 was 2nd in 53.13mins and John Middler M60 was 7th in 57.54mins on the same course. Chris McCartney M45 was 5th and took 59.04mins on the 7.2km Short Brown Course. Alfie Bullus M16 was 6th on the Blue 6.6km course taking 62.06mins, Barry Elkington M60 8th in 63.54mins and Felix Lunn M14 11th in 64.35mins on the same course. Bruce Bryant M55 was 6th in 53.52mins and Liz Phillips W50 10th in 58.01mins on the 5.4km Short Blue course. On the 3.2km Light Green course Philip Lunn M45 was 3rd in 33.20mins and Florence Lunn W12 5th in 41.39mins and Tabitha Lunn W12 6th in 43.09mins. Kimberley Lunn W40 was 3rd in 45.48mins on the 2.9km Orange course.
