The OD junior squad is open to all junior members of the club. It provides a variety of different events throughout the year, consisting of:
- Coaching β such as technical help and physical training ideas.
- A variety of training sessions, each focussed on a specific area such as understanding contours, sprint races, night orienteering, etc.
- Social events β a chance for all juniors to wind down and enjoy themselves away from the orienteering scene.
These events will help you to improve on your orienteering skills and progress through the Colour Coded standards, hopefully allowing you to join the West Midlands Junior Squad. Qualified coaches will be there to help you along the way as much as they can.
Events are organised on a monthly basis and emails are sent around to all members. Once you reply all the information that you need for the event will be sent out to you, and if you have any questions please ask, we donβt bite!
If you are new to the squad, we always ask for a Consent and Medical Information form from you. This will last a year, but if any information changes you will need to inform us.
If you have any queries with regard to the OD Junior Squad, or any of the training sessions or social nights, contact Kimberley ODJS@octavian-droobers.org and she will try and answer your questions as well as possible.
