We have club members at both Warwick University and Coventry University and welcome students to any of our events.
The Warwick University campus has been mapped for orienteering and there is usually at least one event held there each year. There are also events held at Wainbody Wood which is within walking distance of the campus and at Memorial Park which is between the campus and Coventry city centre.
We are in the process of improving links with local universities with help from British Orienteering who are keen to promote orienteering at universities.
If you are a student in our area and are interesting in having a go at orienteering, please get in touch with the club or just come along to one of our events. We can put you in touch with other students who are already involved in the sport.
- The OD local events are ideal for beginners to have a go at orienteering. We can help to arrange transport to the events if needed.
- For events further afield, we can help to arrange lift shares.
- Entry to the Saturday morning and Wednesday evening events is free for full-time students. The only cost is £1 for EMIT hire if you do not have your own.
UWOC
Until recently, there was an active orienteering club at Warwick University (UWOC).
The club is currently on-hold, but there are several students who are active orienteers. They can be contacted by emailing through the mountaineering club, the email is warwickmountainsexec@gmail.com
