Droobers hosting 2024 British Sprint Championships on Sunday 23rd June

OD is proud to be hosting the prestigious 2024 British Sprint Championships at the University of Warwick on Sunday June 23rd. The championships will bring the best elite sprint orienteers from all over the UK to Coventry in addition to hundreds of other club orienteers. The event is notable not only for elite success but also for the age-group courses which will see competitors in every age-group up to the male and female 90+ category.

The day has a two-race format with morning qualifying heats and afternoon finals with start order determined by morning finishing times. With the courses being quite short and special spectator controls, it will be an interesting spectacle for non-orienteers.

Phil Kirk will be the lead organiser for the day which will be a major logistical exercise that will call on all of his considerable experience. Dozens of club members will be volunteering their time throughout the day to ensure that the event is a success for all runners and spectators.
