Organiser's comments:

Daventry Country Park entertained over 60 competitors on the four courses that included tours of some interesting parts of the country park and a full lap of the reservoir on the Long course. We were very pleased to welcome several people trying orienteering for the first time, with especially hot competition coming in the under 10 categories on the Yellow course – we look forward to a very strong junior squad in the years to come. This was the first event that I had either planned or organised, so I must apologies to the more experienced orienteers for some “imaginative” use of control descriptions, inconsistencies with the map and vegetation boundaries that were less distinct in the autumn – hopefully you still all enjoyed the event. I would also like to thank John Middler, Karen Kirk and Sam Leadley for help in running the day and for everyone who helped to collect controls at the end.
