Organiser's comments:

Thank you to everyone (and an excellent turnout) who came and enjoyed an evening in the woods with the deer, wild boar, foxes and hares, with the added late obstacle of the farmer bringing in the corn with large machinery on the road in. We were very fortunate that the few spots of rain did not turn into something heavier. This was our first attempt at course planning and event hosting, so a big thankyou to Bob Brandon for Condes software advice, Jacqui Quinney for assisting on registration, to the Oxtoby’s and Harbury Scouts for collecting controls in at the end.

It was good to see runners from a variety of ages and abilities, as well as 2 Solihull and 8 local scouts, as part of many newcomers. The sky influenced route outlines comprised of, the Easy ‘Sun’ Course giving an ideal introduction to the sport, although 2 very close controls caught a number out. The Medium ‘Crescent Moon’ course provided the added few water features, to make the course interesting, although 2 very close controls also caught a few out. The Long ‘Star’ provided an opportunity for a longer running stretch, covering most of the area, to also seek out water features and encounter a few blood drawing bushes.

Apologies also to two OD members that had malfunctioning EMIT’s on the night but hope you still enjoyed event. Overall we were pleased how the event went and the positive feedback received.
