Organiser's Comments
The event at Rough Close went very well. Thankfully the band of rain passed overnight and left us with a dry sunny day. There was a very small shower early on, during the event, but not enough to dampen our spirits. I believe the courses were enjoyed by all. I certainly had no complaints. There were a few missed punches for which I have given the competitors the benefit of the doubt. But, at the same time, they are reminded to make absolutely certain that their punch does register. This is obviously more important at Level C events and above.
It was pleasing to see a group of Beavers from Leek Wootton and a number pupils from KHVIII school. One new comer was attracted through facebook and another couple by a newsletter in Shirley. I am grateful for the assistance of Bob Brandon, Sue Hallett, Pete and Sheila Carey and the control collectors Phil May, Mike Snell and Tom Jeffries.
