Organiser's Comments

When I saw the weather forecast for Solihull I thought I would be able to get the controls out in the dry with heavy rain occurring during the event. Luckily for the competitors and unluckily for me the weather was the reverse of the forecast. I was soaked putting the controls out and the rain stopped as the first competitors arrived, to start again when we had to collect in the controls! Thank you very much to Sue Bicknell, John Bowman and Aleksandrs Ivanovs for helping me collect in the controls. Without them I would have gotten home about Midnight. I apologise about the 2 controls that I put in the wrong place. I have not penalised anyone for missing them out. I hope this did not spoil your enjoyment of the event too much. The vegetation had grown amazingly in the 3 weeks since I had last visited the area and made everything look different, which did contribute to my problem of seeing the map in the rain.
