Burton Dassett in January gave us an unexpectedly lovely evening , setting up the controls in the warm afternoon sunshine and sunset was a pleasure.

A select group of 14 orienteers took part and everybody got the hang of the odds and evens format. With the evens worth 20 points to the odds 10 points some thinking was needed to decide when to return to the transition control and turn the map over. This certainly affected the results with Anne Straube beating Lawrence Jones to second place by timing her switch to the evens well and getting around all 13 of them. Only William Gardner managed to get around all the controls.
Penny Pug running with her partner was a notable 5th place despite both of them orienteering for the first time.

Many thanks to Lawrence for helping to collect the controls.
