OCTAVIAN DROOBERS EARN TOP 5 PLACES AROUND THE COUNTRY

The two day Lakeland Orienteering event proved popular and at the Middle Distance event on Simpson Ground Anne Straube W40 was 1st in her class on the Blue 3.7km course running round in 42.48mins and Carolyn Marr W65 was 4th in her class on the 2.07km course in 42.20mins. On Day 2 at the Bethecar Moor Long distance event Carolyn Marr was again placed 4th on the 3km Short Green course with 125metres of climb taking 50.08mins, Anne Straube 5th in her class in 75.37mins on the 5.3km course with 260 metres of climb, Felix Lunn M14 5th on the Light Green 3.1km course in 44.44mins and Kirsten Strain W21 was 5th in 54.19mins in her class on the 6.2km course with 285metres of climb.  

 

At Buckleberry Common, Berkshire, Harrison McCartney M18 was placed second on the longest course, Brown 9.53km, taking 58.28mins and Alfie Bullus M16 was 3rd on the Green 5.05km Blue course in 43.10mins.

Priory Country Park, near Bedford, was the venue for the South Midland Orienteering Club level C ranking event. Mike Hampton M65 was 5th on the Mens Ultravet 3.9km course in 36.21mins.

The Thoresby North event organised by Nottinghamshire Orienteering Club, near Mansfield, saw Mateusz Podsiadly M20 achieve 2nd position after running the 8.7km course and finding 22 controls in 62.13mins. Sheila Carey W65 was 5th on the Green 4.5km course in 43.51mins.
