SHROPSHIRE WEEKEND

Taking advantage of the beautiful sunny weather many Octavian Droobers ran the urban race around Bridgnorth on Saturday and up on Brown Clee Hill on Sunday.

Four first places were won by club members at Bridgnorth. The steep roads with steps leading down to the river, past the steam railway station, ruins, gardens, and a market on the main street added to the complexity of finding controls in the fastest time. Aimee Morse W16 won the Junior women’s 2.27k event in 21.06mins, Riina Kuuselo W21 won the Women’s 5.24k Open Event with 120metres of climb in 36.41mins, Sheila Carey W65 won the Ultra Veteran Women’s 2.74k event in 28.43mins (Sue Bicknell 3rd) and Mike Hampton M65 won the Ultra Veteran Men’s 3.35k event with 120metres of climb in 30.35mins.
