Sutton Park - WML & WMOA Championships
Sutton Park
A West Midlands League regional event suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner to the experienced orienteer. Incorporating the WMOA Championships.
Location: Vehicle access to Sutton Park for this event is via Streetly Gate which is off Thornhill Road (B4138) OS Grid Ref: SP 08693 98497 – Post Code B74 3EW.
Parking within the Park, after 1.6km (1.0 miles), parking is through a barrier on your left.
Ignore large parking area after 1km (0.6 miles). Parking is on grass adjacent to Assembly.
Pre-entry has now closed but there is limited EOD (Entry on the Day) for all courses subject to map availability:
Brown: 6 maps
Blue: 15 maps
Green: 9 maps
Short Green: 12 maps
Light Green: 8 maps
Red: 6 maps
Orange: 9 maps
Yellow: 10 maps
White: 9 maps
EOD fees: Seniors £11, Juniors (including full-time students) £3, SI-card hire (Non SIAC) £1
Entry on the Day registration will be open from 10:00 to 11:30.
Lost hired SI-card – there will be a charge of up to £52 for lost cards”
Start Times: 10:30 to 12:30
The start: is 200 metres from assembly and the finish: is adjacent to assembly

Terrain: a mixture of undulating wooded park land and rough open areas with a network of paths.
Other facilities:
Podium Catering will be in attendance for hot drinks and hot food and there will a cake stall courtesy of West Midlands Junior Squad
Toilets: 2 x toilet units have been booked

White 1.8 km, 25 m climb, 11 controls
Yellow: 3.0 km, 30 m climb, 11 controls
Orange: 3.3 km, 30 m climb, 12 controls
Light Green: 3.8 km, 75 m climb, 13 controls
Short Green: 4.2 km, 70 m climb, 15 controls
Green: 5.1 km, 70 m climb, 16 controls
Blue: 7.1 km, 100 m climb, 15 controls
Brown: 10.9 km, 140 m climb, 29 controls
Red 5.5 km, 60m climb, 17 controls
Red is a longer, less-technical course that would be suitable for runners new to Orienteering.
