An OD Local League event at Everdon Stubbs,, suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner (help and advice available) to the experienced orienteer.

Location : The event will be signed south off the A45 (towards Everdon), 3 miles SE of Daventry at Dodford . Follow O signs for 3 miles. Go through the wood to the top of the hill to the crossroads. Parking to left on the roadside along the south edge of the wood. Note this is not the location shown on Google Maps which is a very small parking area in the woods.

Car parking: The roadside parking at Everdon Stubbs is limited so please share transport if possible.

Current members of British Orienteering: are encouraged to pre-enter using Fabian4
Newcomers and non-members: can enter using Fabian4, but can also reserve an entry by emailing entries@octavian-droobers.org or can enter on the day at the event. Those who pre-enter are guaranteed a map for their chosen course. We do print extra maps, particularly for courses suited to newcomers.

Discounted Pre-entry: Enter by Sunday 12th January to guarantee a printed map of your choice.

Late Pre-entry: Enter by Thursday 16th January. Pre-entry for some courses may become restricted by the availability of printed maps.

EOD (Entry on the Day) Some courses may be restricted by the availability of printed maps but we do print extra maps for those courses suitable for newcomers..

Courses: Short / Easy, Medium, Long (without paths) see note below  

For added challenge the Long will use a map without paths..

Leg protection is recommended: areas where brambles were removed last year are growing back at a low level, Leg protection is particularly recommended for anyone doing the Long course.            

Both Long and Medium courses have 2 road crossings. Unaccompanied "Under 16" Juniors can only do the Short/Easy course.

 Short / Easy  1.6 km  20 m  9 controls Entry Limit: tbc when maps sent for printing
 Medium  3.5 km  60 m  20 controls  Entry Limit: tbc when maps sent for printing
 Long (no paths)  5.5 km  95 m  24 controls  Entry Limit: tbc when maps sent for printing

Map: 1::5000 with 5m contours, Symbols: ISOM 2017-2. Last revised Jan 2024 with selective updates by Richard in Nov 2024. The Long course will have a double-sided map
SI punching (SIAC enabled). 
Start times: 10:30 - 12:00

Loose control descriptions will not be provided but will be available to download here for home printing.

Toilets: There are no public toilets at Everdon Stubbs

COVID:  Please do not come if you have symptoms of Covid-19, or suspect you may have it.

Safety and Risk:
A risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If you have a high-risk medical condition you want organisers to be aware of please leave details at enquiries in a sealed envelope with your name on it. You can use this medical form. Envelopes will only be opened if required for a medical emergency. Unopened envelopes should be collected after the event. Any unclaimed envelopes will be destroyed after the event.
An emergency number for the day is printed on the map. First aid and details of the nearest A&E hospital will be available in the assembly area.

Photography:
British Orienteering has an agreed national guidance policy on the taking of photographs at events. If you are unsure about the agreed acceptable practice, please speak to the event organiser.

Privacy & Personal Data:
When entering events your personal details (name, age, gender, club) will appear in the results section on this website. It may also be used to trace missing runners and hired SI cards.
