- In this tutorial the 3D model shows the contours to make it easier to get started.
- Mouse: hold the left button down with the cursor over the 3D model. Left / right to rotate, up / down to tilt. Wheel to zoom.
- Touchscreen: drag left / right to rotate, up / down to tilt, pinch to zoom.
- Keyboard: left / right arrow keys to rotate, up / down arrow keys to tilt, Pg Up / Pg Dn to zoom
- Look at the 4 maps below the model and try to work out which one matches the model (rotating the model may help you figure it out).
- Once you know which map it is, rotate the model so that it is oriented (aligned) the same as the map (does not apply for map symbol matching).
- Click once / tap screen / press Enter key on the correct map.
- If you're correct you'll hear a beep, see CORRECT! at the bottom of the screen and the next model will load.
- If you get either the wrong map or the map isn't oriented correctly (within 45 degrees), you'll get a hint at the bottom of the screen and can retry until your energy runs out.
- When you run out of energy, press Restart to have another go or use the menu to try a different exercise. The Out of Energy dialog tells you which map was correct. The maps are numbered 1 to 4 left to right.
- Once you've got used to the idea of how it works, move on to the exercises which use satellite images of the terrain rather than maps with contours for the 3D model.
- Your energy reduces with time. Each incorrect attempt uses 25% of energy. Every 5 correct gives you an energy boost.
- In Settings you can change the rate at which your energy runs out to increase difficulty and boost your score.
- You can also enable random ordering and rotation of the maps in Settings to increase difficulty and boost your score even more.
