John
Ward has been pestering me for some years to map his local patch but I always
thought it was too small. It was only when I realized that I could join it up
with Whinfield Park to add distance to courses that I agreed. From the smiley
faces and animated remarks at the finish, the area seems to have been a
success, much to my surprise. Orienteers seem to get perverse enjoyment from
getting wet, so with the stepping stones at the stream crossings well under
water after all the recent rain you had up to 4 opportunities to splash
through. Some of you even decided to test out the depth of the oxbow lake and
got a (very deep) shock! My thanks to
John for all his help on the day.
