INFORMAL EVENT

Brandon Woods is a super
orienteering area and it was a privilege to be allowed to plan on it, so as
those on the Blue course know I decided to provide a long course to use the the
whole area. (Trouble is I was still
collecting controls in near darkness at 9:30).
It was most generous of the school to allow us to use the field and
access to the woods. As ever I had most
difficulty planning the easy courses so I apologise if the Light Green course
was too difficult for some of the youngsters used to Orange – however many of
them coped really well and should be congratulated. One control on Blue went walkabout several times and by the time
I collected it was on the only other
metal post on the map. Control 4 on
Blue seemed to pose a problem for some though others found it with no
problem. When I collected it at 8:25 it
was exactly where I put it, but who knows whether it was there all the
time. Nevertheless we did not lose any
kit and all the dog walkers seemed friendly.
