Results from Retford, Caddihoe Chase and Oceania Championships

Mike Snell M60 won the Super Vet 5.1km men’s course in 39.57mins at the Urban race around Retford in Nottinghamshire and Mike Hampton M70 was 5th in 46.48mins on the 4.5km Mens Ultra Vet course.

 

Devon Orienteering Club staged the annual Caddihoe Chase weekend at Burrator, south west Dartmoor. On Day 1 Jill Emmerson W55 was 2nd on the W50 class 4.44km course taking 62.58mins and Margaret Willdig was 5th on the W65 3.31km course in 60.01mins. Barry Elkington was 5th in 57.33mins and Andy Emmerson 8th in 59.18mins on the M60 class 5.81km course with 135 metres of climb. On the M65 class 4.44km course with 155 metres of climb Tony Feltbower was 6th in 50.34mins. On Day 2 with a chasing start based on Day 1’s performance Barry was 3rd (overall 5th) Andy Emmerson 5th (overall 7th), Tony Feltbower 3rd (overall 4th), Jill Emmerson 6th (overall 4th) and Margaret Willdig 2nd (overall 2nd).

Down under in Australia this weekend Octavian Droobers showed their class at the annual Oceania Championships, Richard Gardner was 1st on the Mens 65 class sprint championships and son William Gardner was 2nd Mens Elite finisher at the event staged near Wagga Wagga. Also at these championships Hilary Simpson won the W80 class and husband Trevor was 2nd in the M80 class. The next day in the Long distance Championships Will was 8th and Richard 5th, Trevor 4th and Hilary 2nd.
