Ryton Pools , Junior Inter Regionals & Royal Wootton Bassett Urban

On Saturday at Ryton Pools Liam & Ellie Chapple organised a score event with 42 attending. Anne Straube won the event with a maximum score of 450 in a time of 34.59 minutes. Close behind her were Liz Phillips and David Oxtoby both with the maximum score . The highest scoring junior was Jacob Oxtoby with junior Cameron Williams Stein a close second. 

Flying off to Aberdeen on Saturday were 8 Droober juniors who along with other West Midland juniors had been selected to represent the West Midlands region in a two day competition against the other nine English regional teams, Wales and Scotland. The eight were Heather Rogers, Harrison McCartney, Sam Leadley, Alfie Bullus, Ollie Flippance, Ollie Lunn, Felix Lunn and making her debut at this level, Pippa Smart.  All competed as individuals on the Saturday.  Harrison, making his last appearance for the junior squad, was second on the individual day while the rest of the team ran well on tough technical Scottish terrain to bring the team home in fourth place.  Sunday saw the relay competition and the team again finished in fourth position ensuring they were fourth overall. The team were only beaten by the larger teams of Scotland, North West and Yorkshire & Humberside. All eight Droobers contributed to the overall team score. 

Sunday saw several Droobers including Sheila Carey compete in the urban at Royal Wootton Bassett. Sheila continued her current form and won the Women's Ultra Vets 3.3km course in a time of 33.23 minutes.  Margaret Willdig was second on the Women's Senior Vets 4.2km course in a time of 43.29 minutes.
