Informal MapRun - Hinckley Town Centre

An Informal MapRun in Hinckley centre with sprint type courses aimed at JK sprint training. Results will not be published (although available through MapRun).

Location: Start & Finish:are in front of the Leisure Centre. What3Words 

The leisure centre is located off Argents Mead, St Mary's Road, Hinckley, LE10 1FL although the car park is actually LE10 1BZ. See note below about recommended car park.

Parking: Hinckley town car parks.: It is recommended to use the car park at the NW end of Hill Street (LE10 1DS). Car parking is free on a Sunday.. StreetMap

It is advised not to start MapRun in the car park as it may activate before you get to the Leisure Centre!

Start times: 10:30 - 11:30.

Map: The 2022 Hinckley town map with a few updates where there are significant changes. SRA4 LIDAR based waterproof map at 1:4000 with 2.5m contours by Mike Hampton, revised by Bruce Bryant. Maps will be printed on waterproof paper. 

Courses will be printed (double-sided) on a single SRA4 map. If you want a longer run you can do both courses.
Long         3.2 km / 55m / 21 controls
Short         2.3 km / 40m / 15 controls
All courses cross roads so are unsuitable for unaccompanied "Under 16" Juniors

Control descriptions: will be on the map. Loose control descriptions will not be provided but are available here for home printing.

Entries: To reserve a pre-printed map please email chair@octavian-droobers.org To guarantee a pre-printed map, email by Sunday 6th April. Maps will be sent for printing on Monday Spare maps will be available for late entry (and possibly EOD).
Entry fee: £2.50 payable on the day preferably with correct cash (or proof of bank transfer to the OD account)..

Toilets (and cafe) inside the Leisure Centre. Toilets also in St Mary's Car Park.

COVID: Please do not come if you have symptoms of Covid-19, or suspect you may have it.

Safety and Risk:
A risk assessment will have been carried out by the planner, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. An emergency number for the day is printed on the map. First aid and details of the nearest A&E hospital will be available from Keith.
