Organisers / Planner's Comments

Sutton Park is possibly at it's most beautiful on a sunny Autumn morning. The weather for the Tony Haw Memorial Cup score event was glorious and encouraged a good turnout of just under 100 competitors from OD and from further afield. We even had an entrant from LOG who just happened to be visiting for another reason, stumbled across our event in another part of the park and just had to have a go. It was good to know that we had planned a course challenging enough to prevent anyone from getting all of the controls, although several people came close. Well done! We are very grateful for all the positive comments received.

We would like to thank the many people who helped to make the preparation and the event run like clockwork: Bruce Bryant for the map file and arranging the printing; John Middler for all his help with pre-checking and advising on the control sites, helping with putting out controls over two days as well as all the mileage on his bike, checking the controls were fully-functioning on the day; Margaret and Keith Willdig and Jane Stew for Car Parking (and control collection); John and Kath Wright and Sue Bowman for Registration; Mel Elkington for First Aid and the OD shop; Barry Elkington, John Bowman and Sue Hallett for manning the Start; Bob Brandon and Dilys Skinner for Finish; Ant Walker for Download and Results; Karin Kirk for her Meet and Greet; John Ward, Bob Brandon and Leo Morgado for control collection. Thanks to all your hard work, we were all done and packed up in record time, and despite a very busy park with the National Autumn 2014 Road Relay Championships event going on at the same time, all the controls were safely collected in.

Thank you all.

Lin & Steph (+bump)
