OD JUNIORS WIN THROUGH TO YVETTE BAKER TROPHY FINAL

Twenty five juniors travelled to Bracknell, Berks to compete in the preliminary round of the inter club national junior orienteering championships and came away with a convincing win. 

Against Happy Herts, Thames Valley and Berkshire Orienteers, OD juniors produced some brilliant results scoring 895 points with 4 1st places: Jeremy Knott (Yellow), Harrison McCartney (Orange, Julie Emmerson (Light Green) and Guy Ross (Light Green). The 5 2nd places went to Alex Hedges (Orange), Lizzie Davies (Orange), Michael Hanson-Morris (Light Green), Aimee Morse (Light Green) and Matt Elkington (Green). The juniors, who are currently the holders of the Yvette Baker Trophy, will defend the title on 5th December in Bewdley, Worcestershire. See "Juniors" for details.

AMAZING WINNERS

 Liz Phillips W45 and Will Gardner M18 were celebrating at the weekend after coming 1st in the Maize Maze orienteering event held at Postern House Farm, near Burton-on-Trent, organised by Walton Chasers Orienteering Club. The event run through the farmers maize maze included two qualifying races followed by a night race final. Will Gardner won in 13.14mins over the 0.79k course, Iain Embrey was 3rd man in 13.59mins and Liz Phillips won the women’s prize in 22.51mins.
